    How your baby's growing: Deep in your uterus your embryo is growing at a furious pace. At this point he's about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. He's now made up of three layers — the ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm — that will later form his organs and tissues. The cells are forming for his major organs, including his kidneys and liver, and his neural tube is beginning to develop. This neural tube — from which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone will sprout — develops in the top layer, called the ectoderm. This layer will also give rise to his skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel. His heart and circulatory system begin to form in the middle layer, or mesoderm. (This week, in fact, his tiny heart begins to divide into chambers and beat and pump blood.) The mesoderm will also form your baby's muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous (under skin) tissue. The third layer, or endoderm, will house his lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job.

  • my beloved friends:
    thank you for praying yesterday. it went better than expected.
    we got out of the mediation early...and just in time to have lunch
    with some dear friends, then see LIMBECK play at noon...
    outside. for an hour straight.
    and God told me to never forget oct. second. He had that day
    planned for us since our birth. I want to feel that way, everyday.
    since its true everyday.
    that day was filled from top to bottom with good things.
    and today was just as great.
    carolyn, sadie and I took my dogs to the new dog park here in omaha
    and they ran for one hour solid. no lie. 

    what do you have planned for me tomorrow?

  • well i'm offically quarter-aged now.
    i still need to learn how to spell.
    i got some pretty rad stuff, including
    broncitis.
    and this monday, the 2nd, we are meeting
    with our lawyer to finish the accident
    settlement from 2003. please pray for
    peace for nick and I. up to 5 hours of
    reliving the worst period of our life will be hard.
    then, trying to put a monetary value to it?
    ya right. im stressing about it pretty badly.
    Lord, we ask for favor in that room and
    for your perfect will to be done, thats all.
    you are in control. i will trust in that.

  • alot of things are changing fast after years of nothing at all.
    trying to increase my faith in between is difficult.


    the hospital said that they can cover up to 100% of nick's
    surgery bill. please pray that they will accept our application...


    and pray that our next move will involve a house, not an apartment.

  • it just feels like we're on vacation. its wierd
    thanks to all you beautiful people who
    have prayed for 5 years straight for us
    and those who gave of your own income to
    ours.
